Vascular check-up

Pathological vascular changes often go unnoticed until a stroke or heart attack occurs. However, early detection and appropriate treatment can prevent this. We, therefore, advise certain risk groups to undergo an effective vascular check-up.

The buildup of calcium and fatty deposits on blood vessel walls is not necessarily a sign of aging. Due to unfavorable lifestyle and dietary habits, even younger individuals can be affected.

Risk factors such as high blood pressure, diabetes, elevated cholesterol levels, and smoking are conducive to developing vascular diseases. If there is a corresponding risk or a hereditary predisposition, it is necessary to take countermeasures promptly.

During a thorough vascular check, we therefore examine the permeability, elasticity and wall thickness of your blood vessels. Based on the result, we can initiate therapy if necessary.

Vascular check-up as a preventive service

Prevention is better than cure.

This old saying applies here as well, as a vessel check-up can significantly contribute to maintaining your health. We distinguish these variants in diagnostics:

Large vessel check-up

Small vessel check-up

Vein check-ups for patients with varicose veins

Vascular check-up as a preventive service

Large vessel check-up

Here we do not limit ourselves to a specific body region, but examine your venous and arterial vessels in all areas (neck, abdomen, legs, pelvic groin). Following a thorough medical history and comprehensive diagnosis through color duplex sonography, a detailed consultation and comprehensive report will also be provided to your primary care physician.

The second, more comprehensive option is considered an individual health service (IGeL) and, therefore, a private medical examination. As a rule, it is not covered by the statutory health insurance.

Small vessel check-up

After taking a detailed medical history, we use ultrasound (color duplex sonography) to examine the blood vessels of a specific region of the body. Depending on the indication, we focus on the neck, abdomen, legs or pelvic groin.

You will then receive a detailed consultation and, of course, a doctor’s letter for your family doctor.

Vein check-ups for patients with varicose veins

Varicose veins (varices) are a degenerative disease of the vein wall in the leg veins that predominantly affects women. Their development is favored by risk factors such as pregnancy and obesity, but also lack of exercise or hereditary predisposition.

Do you have an increased risk of circulatory disturbance of the leg vessels, stroke, or heart attack?

Do you suspect varicose veins, or have they already been diagnosed?

With the help of thorough vascular diagnostics, problems can be identified early, and severe secondary diseases can be averted.
